Qualification

Must have:

• Diploma in clothing and construction or fashion and design
• Minimum KCSE grade C-
• Five (5) years working experience in a similar position
• Proven experience in a Sewing Technician role or related field
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Key responsibilities also include

Reporting to: Principal Laboratory Technologist

Duties and responsibilities:

• Perform core responsibilities as a Sewing Technician, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet university objectives.
• Contribute to process improvements and innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with university standards and organizational policies.
• Support continuous learning and development in the role.
• Prepare machine by changing needles and thread, oiling and changing bobbin, and securing attachments.
• Read and verify pattern accuracy.
• Offers solutions to sewing problems at hand and long-term improvements in sewing procedure.
• Performs preventive maintenance on sewing equipment
• Any other duty as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
