Qualification
Must have:
- Diploma in clothing and construction or fashion and design
- Minimum KCSE grade C-
- Five (5) years working experience in a similar position
- Proven experience in a Sewing Technician role or related field
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Key responsibilities also include
Reporting to: Principal Laboratory Technologist
Duties and responsibilities:
- Perform core responsibilities as a Sewing Technician, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet university objectives.
- Contribute to process improvements and innovative solutions.
- Ensure compliance with university standards and organizational policies.
- Support continuous learning and development in the role.
- Prepare machine by changing needles and thread, oiling and changing bobbin, and securing attachments.
- Read and verify pattern accuracy.
- Offers solutions to sewing problems at hand and long-term improvements in sewing procedure.
- Performs preventive maintenance on sewing equipment
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
