Qualification

Education, Skills & Experience;

Must have:                                        

  • Certificate in Gym Instruction /Fitness Instruction from a recognized academic institution.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
  • KCSE certificate
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a gym, fitness center, or wellness facility.

Reporting to: Campus Registrar, Finance, Administration and Marketing (FAM)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Instruct clients on proper use of gym equipment and exercise techniques
  • Design personalized fitness programs based on clients’ goals and fitness levels
  • Conduct fitness assessments and monitor client progress
  • Supervise gym floor activities to ensure safety and adherence to procedures
  • Provide guidance on exercise routines, weight training, and cardiovascular workouts
  • Motivate and support clients to achieve their fitness goals
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper maintenance of gym equipment
  • Respond to emergencies and administer first aid where necessary
  • Lead group fitness sessions such as aerobics, stretching, or strength training
  • Educate clients on basic nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices
  • Enforce gym rules, policies, and safety standards
  • Maintain records of client programs, attendance, and progress
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
