MKU invites applications from suitably qualified, visionary, competent, dynamic and experienced professionals with impeccable track record to fill the positions of ADJUNCT PROFESSORS IN THE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING ENERGY & THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT (THREE POSITIONS).

Qualification

Role: Thematic Leaders in the following areas:

1. Electronics (1 Position)
2. Power Systems (1 Position)
3. Instrumentation and Control (1 Position)

Must have:

• An earned PhD degree in the relevant Thematic area from an Accredited University
• At least five (5) years of university teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer
• Must have at least 4 publications in credible and peer reviewed journals
• Successful supervision of at least 3 post graduate students to completion
• Evidence of attracting research funds and grants to support research initiatives or scholarly projects will be an added advantage
• A Professional Engineer in Good Standing with the Engineers Board of Kenya.

Duties and responsibilities:

As an adjunct faculty you will be invited when need arises to:

1. Participate in: a) Teaching b) Research c) Consultancy d) Community Outreach Programmes.
2. Facilitate student learning using a variety of instructional strategies such as online platform.
3. Participate in review of academic Programmes.
4. Advise on teaching and research requirements.
5. Focusing and support student learning outcomes by:
6. Promoting cooperative learning, experiential learning and critical thinking.
7. Maintaining academic integrity.
8. Making reasonable provisions to accommodate student individual differences.
9. Taking into account the needs and abilities of students.
10. Co-supervise postgraduate students and maintain high level of research.
11. Participate in application of grants for collaborative research.
