Qualification

Must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution.

• A valid practicing licence from the Clinical Officers Council.

• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical and teaching experience at a recognized university, TVET institution, or other tertiary training institution.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Participating in the development, instruction, and delivery of the Clinical Medicine and Surgery curriculum.

2. Delivering lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical training sessions in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.

3. Providing hands-on training in clinical skills, including patient examination, diagnostic procedures, clinical decision-making, and relevant surgical techniques.

4. Supervising and guiding students during practical and clinical training to ensure they acquire essential skills safely and effectively.

5. Organizing and overseeing clinical rotations in hospitals, health centres, and other approved clinical training facilities.

6. Coordinating with healthcare facilities to facilitate and monitor student clinical placements.

7. Preparing and administering examinations, assignments, practical assessments, and other forms of student evaluation.

8. Evaluating students’ academic and clinical progress and providing appropriate feedback.

9. Mentoring students and providing academic, professional, and career guidance.

10. Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, performance, assessments, and clinical competencies.

11. Ensuring that teaching, assessment, and clinical training activities comply with applicable regulatory and professional standards.

12. Participating in research and scholarly activities that contribute to the advancement of medical education and clinical practice.

13. Participating actively in departmental meetings, academic activities, and initiatives aimed at strengthening the department.

14. Supporting continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices within the department.

15. Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
