Qualification

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Electrical Installation, Electrical Technology, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Government Trade Test (GTT) Grade III in Electrical Installation (Class C Wiring) or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years’ relevant experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
  • Experience in an institutional or commercial environment will be an added advantage.

Key responsibilities also include

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining motors, transformers, generators, lights/ appliances electric controls, fire arms and clock systems and other system equipment and components, in compliance with electrical systems, Standards and regulations.
  • Ensuring fire alarms and emergency electrical systems are operational and performing certification testing on alarm systems
  • Installing, troubleshooting and repairing new equipment and systems, including all campus lights and programmable lighting controls
  • Monitoring work done by outside contractors for adherence for National
  • Electrical Code requirements and reports back to the supervisor
  • Assisting in writing of specifications for repairs and new construction
  • Operating a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions
  • Studying plans, drawings and specifications and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/ or installations
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
