Qualification

 

Requirements

1. Coxswain I Certificate
2. Minimum of 2-3 years’ sea service and prior teaching or training experience in a maritime institution is highly desirable

Key responsibilities also include

 

Duties and responsibilities;

1. Aiding trainers in training activities by navigating training vessels and ensuring crew and boat safety.
2. Identifying and addressing technical faults
3. Executing drills as directed by the trainer
4. General maintenance of the vessels and auxiliary equipment
5. Ensure the boat is properly equipped with mandatory and serviced firefighting equipment, lifesaving appliances and personal protective clothing at all times.
6. Keeping and maintaining records of all activities.
